Clip description

Jonathan Welch and the Choir of Hard Knocks have only a few days in the recording studio to record their CD.

Curator’s notes

This scene finds drama in the recording process and also captures some great, funny moments from the group. The excitable, emotional Jonathan Welch is an entertaining choir master. The way Jonathan works with the group in this scene marks his respect of the group and commitment to the project. There are hiccups in the process as the group works within a tight recording timeframe. Despite the challenges and limitations, sound engineer Adam Rhodes agrees that getting such a large number of voices working together is always difficult. Moments of humour keep the atmosphere light.
