Clip description

Sara Groen is about to meet former racing car driver Nick Tomkinson, the inventor and builder of the 'redback spyder’, a V8, 5.7 litre racing car that can also be driven in the city. Nick puts his latest machine through its paces on the racetrack, with the intrepid Sara by his side in the passenger seat.

There’s nothing quite like a sleek racing car to attract our attention, especially if that car is travelling at over 200 kilometres with a beautiful woman in the front seat. Sara turns the tables somewhat by insisting that she have a turn at the wheel and Nick is honest enough to admit to being frightened when it’s his turn to sit in the passenger seat.

There’s a visual explanation to help us understand how Nick was able to produce this second car from his original design in record time using laser technology. Nevertheless the real scene-stealer is this elegant racing car being put through its paces on the racetrack.
