This 16-minute film, seen here in full, targets NSW farmers in marketing agricultural educational programs on offer during vacation time at Hawkesbury College.

Schools for Farmers portrays the grandeur of Hawkesbury Agricultural College at Richmond in Sydney. The opening minutes celebrate the beauty of the grounds, as well as the world-class facilities, to persuade farming families that it would be a pleasant place to study.

Built in 1891, Hawkesbury is the state’s oldest agricultural college. By 1901, it was also a fully working farm outputting produce of sufficient quality for export. The college merged with other educational institutions in 1989 to form part of the University of Western Sydney.
