Clip description
Dramatised scenarios illustrate the right and wrong methods for disposing of garbage. Two men dump rubbish on the lawn next to the truck. The 'health inspector’ walks over with his hands on his hips, unimpressed. The accepted method for disposal is to use a 'clean, standard garbage tin’. Next, the 'old way’ of burying refuse is followed by the 'new way’ of burning it in the ground. Intertitles introduce and explain each scenario.
Curator’s notes
The scenarios in this clip consist of one or two simple shots to demonstrate the 'right’ and 'wrong’ methods. By showing everyday examples – such as domestic garbage disposal – the film builds to its plea at the end that everyone can contribute to solving the fly problem.
