Grange (2005)
Synopsis
A short drama about two lawyers who attempt to bribe their way to success by paying off the magistrate with Grange, an incredibly expensive and rare wine.
Curator’s notes
A drama from filmmaker Catriona McKenzie, Grange explores the technical aspects of film as much as the dramatic. Grange is an irreverent story of the extremes two young lawyers go to in order to get promoted in the corporate sector. The pressure of ascending into the middle class could be the characters’ undoing. Grange connoisseurs are comically depicted as a kind of secret and exclusive society, and the two young men inevitably find themselves in over their heads when meddling with the clan of Grange worshippers.
