Ada laughs

This clip chosen to be G

Clip description

Ada (voiced by Isobel Lancaster) is more responsive to her growing granddaughter, helping her with her homework and laughing when Lee spills peas.

Curator’s notes

Glimpses of Ada’s younger self are conveyed when she helps Lee with her spelling, when she waves her hands in accompaniment to the music from the radio, and when she laughs at her granddaughter spilling peas. Her gold wedding ring and the bangles which jangle when she moves, also serve to remind us that she was once a younger, livelier woman. Her impatience is conveyed when she shoos away the cat. Lee’s face reveals her surprise and pleasure at Ada’s responsiveness.
