The Movie Show (1986 - 2007)

Magazine program
Weekly x 30 minutes

Series synopsis:

A magazine-style film review program, showing clips from the reviewed films and occasionally interviewing filmmakers and actors. Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton presented the show on SBS for over 18 years before moving to the ABC in 2004, where their new show was called At The Movies.

Curator’s Notes:

When Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton left SBS to do a film review show for the ABC in 2004, they were replaced by a panel of film critics but that program folded in 2007.

Margaret and David would not always agree on their assessment of a particular film. In fact, their on-air disputes added to the entertainment value of their program. They both offer a personal star rating for each film that’s under review and their ratings don’t always coincide.
