Curator’s notes
This colour home movie filmed at Easter in 1971 gives us a glimpse into Beechworth, showing us the architecture of the main street including the federation style verandah around the local hotel.
Alan Bresnahan was an active member of the Victorian Amateur Cine Society for over 60 years. His keen interest and knowledge of film can be seen with his use of wide, close-up and panning shots and a title card at the beginning. He also laid voice-over and a music track.
The National Film and Sound Archive holds and preserves this home movie along with a large range of colour home movies from this period.
