Synopsis

Curator’s notes
John Roberts filmed in and around his home city of Adelaide from 1939 to 1943. Roberts’ 8mm home movies were donated to the National Film and Sound Archive by his daughter, who appears with her brother in Roberts, John: Children playing war games in a suburban backyard, Adelaide, South Australia.
This is a compilation of film segments from the John Roberts Home Movie Collection that have been spliced together, which explains why some of the footage is in black-and-white, and some is in colour.
