Stan Ray and George Moon Jnr: Specialty Dancers (1931)
Synopsis
Entertainers Stan Ray and George Moon Jnr perform a tap dancing routine as part of Frank Thring’s Efftee Entertainers series of variety shorts.
Curator’s notes
Efftee Entertainers was a series of filmed variety stage acts that included musical and dance numbers, comedy routines, impersonations and excerpts from JC Williamson’s opera company. Thring was an enthusiastic supporter of talking pictures and made the most of the medium by filming live performances such as this. It was shot on one of the stages inside His Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne where Thring set up his film studio.
