Visiting a florist to order flowers for the funeral, Anna (Maria Theodorakis) and Charlie (Vince Colosimo) argue over Gavin’s stipulation that there be no baby’s breath. At the funeral Anna is angry when she sees that baby’s breath flowers have been included.
Curator’s notes
A memorable scene because it’s such a ridiculous thing to throw a fit of anger over, especially at a solemn occasion like a funeral where her behaviour embarrasses everyone present. Rather than asking the audience to judge Anna harshly, the filmmakers present this as an understandable example of the ways in which Gavin’s death is affecting those close to him.
