Wake in Fright (1971)

  1. Useful note. Thanks to Byrnes.
Surely the original author's name should appear in the credits.
Instead of the ugly (and in this case inaccurate) form "(AKA John Mellion)", may I suggest following the lead of IMDB with the form "as -----".

  3. This is many peoples favourite Australian film. But is it really Australian? Three of the four main leads are English, the director is Canadian. The original novel is by an Aussie which may tip it over the line, not sure about the DP and the screenplay.

  5. Not Australian? Very Australian if you want my opinion. Sometimes the best stories about a culture are told through the eyes of a foreigner. How do you judge the "australian-ness" of a movie. Look at the nationality of the key crew and assign them a weighting? 2 points for a director, 2 points for the writer, 1 point for DOP? Strange..
