Curator’s notes

The very first scene in Third Person Plural boldly announces the film’s thematic concerns and stylistic approach. In dramatic close-up, an elderly woman (who does not appear again until much later) says psychosexual aspects of society are going through rapid ‘Darwinian’ evolution, creating a state of confusion. She is mid-sentence as the film begins, hinting at the important role sound will play.
