Clip description
Naomi Kelly, a documentary subject being filmed by Beth (Margaret Cameron, offscreen voice), believes that the psychosexual evolution is speeding up.
Curator’s notes
The very first scene in Third Person Plural boldly announces the film’s thematic concerns and stylistic approach. In dramatic close-up, an elderly woman (who does not appear again until much later) says psychosexual aspects of society are going through rapid ‘Darwinian’ evolution, creating a state of confusion. She is mid-sentence as the film begins, hinting at the important role sound will play.
