Sam (Gary Day) and his best friend Jack (Gerard MacGuire) follow a lead on a murder case involving Slaney, a fellow Vietnam veteran. Watched by crooked cop Calhoun (Tony Barry), Jack and Sam leave Jack’s party to investigate.
Curator’s notes
Sam and Jack’s bonds run deep. Both are Vietnam veterans and are investigating the apparently wrongful arrest of fellow veteran Slaney. At the beginning of this sequence Sam has no knowledge of the case Jack is involved in. Very much like the innocent in an Alfred Hitchcock film who suddenly finds himself in jeopardy, Sam learns just enough of the murky details to be plunged into danger once Jack is shot.
