The clash of tradition and modernity. A sophisticated American corporate hot-shot, Becker can hardly believe Australian businessman McDowell has been manufacturing his products the same way for 60 years, but he respects his rival as someone who has not compromised quality in pursuit of profits. The ancient machinery inside the plant and McDowell’s vintage car outside gives the impression that Becker has stumbled into a time warp. The rickety old steam buggy McDowell drives completes the picture of a business that defies all the rules Becker understands.
