clip ‘You've changed’

Original classification rating: M. This clip chosen to be PG

Clip description

Angela (Sigrid Thornton) accepts a lift from Daryl (Vincent Gil), her ex-boyfriend. Daryl cannot accept the end of the relationship and asks Angela why she has changed so much.

Curator’s notes

Daryl is set up as a suspect in the ordeal Angela is about to undergo. Played with understated menace by Vincent Gil, an actor usually cast to play oddballs and dangerous types (Stone, 1974; Mad Max, 1979), Daryl cannot let go of Angela. He is convinced she is having an affair with Madeleine and sees her slipping further away since she entered the modelling world. His story about guppy fish marks him as a potentially sinister force. Note the use of a Mr Whippy van. It is highly unlikely in today’s environment of careful corporate brand management that a real company would grant permission for its name to be associated with a character such as Daryl.
