Smithy (1946)

A wonderful film about the story and history of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and a great film to have in your collection. All Australians should be reminded of the determination and great effort Charles Kingsford Smith did to do the first flight from England to Australia. It is a shame that the film has not been made available on DVD to the public to buy. The film first came out on video in 1997.

I cannot understand how the reference to 'cowardice' ever got into this film. Anybody who knew anything at all about Smithy (see WW1),would have scoffed at that comment.... in 1934!!
If the producers were looking to beef up the film with sensationalism, surely they could have found something more appropriate than this.
