Curator’s notes

This short extract gives a taste of the high degree of tension the film manages to generate during its climax. As in clip two, the animatronics of John Cox’s Creature Workshop and digital visual effects of Fuel International are combined to achieve a rogue crocodile that not only looks 100% authentic but also moves in a completely believable manner.

The scene is loosely reminiscent of the climactic scene in Jurassic Park (1993) in which children try to escape the snapping jaws of a velociraptor, yet Rogue was made for a fraction of the budget available to Steven Spielberg.
