The truth always comes out in the kitchen. The price of Petersen’s education is taking its toll on wife Susie, who is sick of making sacrifices that lower her self-esteem and standing in the community. What is not said by the dismissive Petersen in this scene is even more powerful. His affair with Trish is a much bigger threat than financial hardship.
