Petersen’s lover, Trish Kent (Wendy Hughes), asks why he bothers coming to university. Petersen (Jack Thompson) angrily defends his commitment and academic record. Trish asks if they can go away together.
Curator’s notes
Is Petersen at university to study or just have a good time? The question is put to him by Trish, who has helped Petersen pass exams he might otherwise have failed. This highly charged scene is about the balance of power in their illicit relationship. Petersen is confronted by the suggestion that he’s only surviving academically with Trish’s help.
