Jim Craig (Tom Burlinson) has rescued Jessica Harrison (Sigrid Thornton) from her ordeal in the mountains. Riding to visit Spur, the one-legged gold miner, they discuss the beauty and unpredictability of the mountains.
Curator’s notes
Lights, camera, metaphor. Jessica’s independence softens as her helplessness increases. The script doesn’t leave much unspoken – but there is a suggestion here that women also need to be treated with care, like mountain weather and horses.
