A tender moment between Ally and Bet. Ally’s question about the parents she never knew triggers Bet’s bittersweet memories of her late son and Ally’s mother, whom the girl believes is also dead. Gillian Armstrong’s uncomplicated direction of actors and camera allows the wonderfully natural performances of Karvan and Adele to connect strongly with the audience.
