Ray (Bryan Brown) finds David (Ernie Dingo) asleep at a waterhole after both men have spent the night in the desert. Ray talks about his father who was also a Northern Territory policeman, who used to take children from their Aboriginal parents. Ray confronts the escaped prisoner Tjulpu.
