Clip description
A very nervous Tim (Khan Chittenden) picks up Jill (Emma Booth) in his truck, to take her on their first date. Her flatmate, Kelly (Katie Wall) waves goodbye. Tim is awkward and tongue-tied during the meal and reluctant to admit that his parents are both entertainers. He tells her his mum works in a canteen. Outside her house, Jill asks Tim if she should drop her current boyfriend. He drives home in a state of blissful excitement.
Curator’s notes
One of the film’s great assets is the freshness of these two young actors. Khan Chittenden has a very funny gawkiness and Emma Booth’s naturalness in front of the camera keeps the scene very realistic.
