"If Steve is an average Australian male, his insensitive treatment of his wife is by implication a serious indictment of not only him, but Australian men in general." is a ridiculous summary of this film. The film is in no way an indictment of Australian men, it is merely an over the top man-hate fest in response to what is barely insensitivity from the lead male character. The level of man-hatred is completely out of balance. I think a more accurate description would be to refer to it as the "story of a psychotic woman who destroys a man for very little reason".
