A young man is rollerblading in a car park, while Owen and others are begging outside the Oasis youth centre. They all go to a squat where there is one mattress. Owen and Haley talk about their experiences with drugs and injuries, and Owen is interviewed about his life.
Curator’s notes
To survive, the homeless kids have to beg for money and try to find places to sleep that are dry. These places are often dirty and disgusting with no toilet facilities, like the one in this clip. Owen’s story about his life has much pathos. It’s a very intimate interview filmed in the squat and indicates a trusting relationship with the filmmaker.
