Clip description
This clip dramatises the finding of the 1928 inquiry into the Aboriginal massacre known as the Coniston Massacre, based on court transcripts. The court found that the shooting of Aborigines at Coniston Station by Chief Protector of Aborigines Mounted Constable William Murray (Ray Barrett) was justified. The court decided that the ‘blacks must bear all the responsibility’ for the massacre.
