Outback Opera, La Boheme Tour (2002)

Synopsis

Opera Australia’s OzOpera Tour took the opera La Boheme to country Victoria and South Australia. The camera follows the 22-stop tour and records the singers, musicians and technical crew as they set up and perform the Italian opera by Giacomo Puccini. Audiences are interviewed, the singers dress and prepare backstage and selected scenes from La Boheme are featured.

Curator’s notes

The documentary is lively and engaging because of the enthusiasm of the conductor and singers. Viewers get a real sense of a touring company in action and audience responses are charming.
