My Mother India is a charming and engaging family history. The insight into the experience of the filmmaker’s mother as an Australian migrant in another country is fascinating. The film won many awards including major prizes at the Sydney Film Festival in 2001. Producer Penny McDonald has made many films of international acclaim including My Mother, My Son, Night Cries, and Too Many Captain Cooks.
