The Last Whale (1994)
Synopsis
The documentary was produced to promote a ban on whaling worldwide. Greenpeace and other organisations want the killing of all whales to stop. Japan and Norway argue that research has shown that the minke whale can be harvested without endangering the species. Scientists, environmentalists and consumers are interviewed. A Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary in Antarctica is proposed to save the whales.

The documentary is a plea for the whales’ survival. It contains excellent footage of whales in their environment. There is also extensive footage of the killing and processing of whales.
