Gillies (1987)

Synopsis

The documentary is a biography of comedian Max Gillies. The film cuts between performance pieces caricaturing public figures like Bob Hawke and Ronald Reagan, and Gillies’ private life at home with his family. Gillies comments on the business of being an actor and his need for privacy.

Curator’s notes

The film is an interesting insight into a naturally quiet man and his desire to act.
