Debutantes are presented to the Premier’s wife Lady Florence Bjelke-Petersen at a gala occasion held in Central Queensland. Lady Flo speaks of the 'naughty strikers’, and offers advice to the debutants: 'I think it is very important indeed that you’re beautiful on the inside as well’. Meanwhile, 400 kms south, a protest has gathered outside the University of Queensland, where Premier Joh Bjelke Peterson is being awarded an Honorary Degree.
