First Australians – Episode 1, They Have Come to Stay (2008)

  1. In this episode professor Janet McCalman says the prehistoric Australian population was 1.6 billion people. Can this be true? Does it mean a cumulative value across millions of years or a point value? Until now we have been told that the world population has been growing at a steady rate during prehistoric times and at an exponential rate. The above mentioned figure would mean a catastrofic reduction at some point of time.
