Curator’s notes
by
Damien Parer
The documentary is an excellent short history of Australian cinema. It is made more interesting by the fact that George Miller is a follower of Joseph Campbell’s archetypal hero’s journey. Miller believes that the paradigm is applicable to most storytelling, especially to the moving image, and refers to it throughout the documentary. George Miller is the director of the Mad Max films and many other feature films and miniseries.
