As many Australians prepare for Christmas, we present a portrait of Christmas in the 1920s featuring parties, puppets, presents and parades. Plus a lot of Santas.
There are lovely details in the clips. My favourite is men dressed as horses pulling Santa on his chariot, as an 'emu’ runs beside them in Australian Gazette: Annual Christmas Treat (c1925).
