Faith on film

We’re sampling some representations of Christianity on our home page this week to mark Easter.

From its first days, the ABC has broadcast religious programs. Their content has broadened over time from a Christian focus to covering a wide range of cultures and religions (see Divine Service and Compass).

Other titles on our home page offer a reinterpretation of Christian mythology by Indigenous Australian artists, stories fictional and factual from Australian convents, a documentary about making saints and a sponsored film highlighting important Christian community welfare work in 1920s Melbourne.

See other titles tagged religion.

The Art of Healing documentary – 2005

Compass – Saving Claymore television program – 2002

The Business of Making Saints documentary – 1994

South Melbourne Methodist Mission News sponsored film – c1924

Brides of Christ television program – 1991
