For our latest filmmaker portrait, NFSA historian Graham Shirley profiles Patricia Lovell, one of the leading producers of the 1970s Australian film revival.
In it, he notes the continuing encouragement Pat received from an earlier Australian film pioneer, Ken G Hall. So it’s especially fitting that Pat is the recipient of the 2010 Ken G Hall Film Preservation Award, an honour for a lifetime of achievement, bestowed by the National Film and Sound Archive.
Read the Portrait here. It includes a stills gallery and comprehensive screenography. Pat Lovell says more about her relationship with Ken G Hall in an exclusive Q&A for the NFSA blog.
