Australia Post – Security (1989)

Synopsis

This program, produced for in-house training use, outlines the operations of Australia Post’s Security and Investigation Service and alerts personnel to the range of potential mail crime.

Curator’s notes

This 1989 staff-training program informed Australia Post personnel about the activities of the Security and Investigation Service. The service relies on workers both to quickly identify mail security transgressions and to facilitate their management. While public perception is that mail security is a far greater problem today than in past decades, the program is evidence that mail security has always presented a substantial challenge for postal services worldwide.
