Clip description

While on Night Patrol, Nana (Mitjili Napanangka Gibson) and another old Aunty (Noreen Robertson Nampijinpa) stop some grog runners from entering the community and decide to teach them a lesson.

Curator’s notes

Nana was filmed at Jay Creek near Alice Springs by cinematographer Jason Ramp, who commands the night shoot particularly well.

Director Warwick Thornton began his career as a cinematographer and his cinematography credits include Radiance (1998), Stone Forever (1999), My Mother India (2001) and First Australians (2008). He also wrote and directed Mimi (2002), Green Bush (2005) and the feature film Samson and Delilah (2009).
