Survivors in the time-travelling city discuss plans to combat the Jen-Diki. Ballard (Tom Burlinson) bluntly declares there is no escape. They must stand and fight their cyborg enemies.
Curator’s notes
This council of war scene establishes Ballard as a strategist and scientist as well as a tough guy. He has discovered how the Jen-Diki tracks the city through time and space, leaving no option but to face the enemy head-on. The squabbling of others reinforces his status as the only hope against annihilation. Dressed in blue and standing next to Ballard is the city’s leader, Boss, played by Dean Stockwell. A former child star, Stockwell had recently returned to prominence as the creepy Ben in David Lynch’s Blue Velvet (1986).
