  1. This is a good aussie movie,if you'd try opal mining.Seen it nealy 20yrs ago on tv and have not seen it since.Iv'e told my opal mining freind about it.Since Iv'e just got on the internet this is a favorite site and would like to doanload this movie to show my mate.

  3. 'Buddies' is the most requested title on australianscreen online. You'll be pleased to know that Umbrella Entertainment plan to release it on DVD for the first time later this year (tentatively July 2009). So keep an eye out for it! Glad to read you're enjoying the site, Keith.

  5. I worked on this movie - the gaffer.
    Much credit for its appeal, apart from john dingwall's and arch nicholson's efforts must go to the cinematographer david eggby.

    Have revisted emerald where it was shot - not much has changed.

    Can't wait for the dvd!

  11. Released in Emerald @ 9:00 am Thursday 2nd July, I had already pre-ordered 4 copies.
    I watched it at 3:00 pm the day it was released
    Better than the Channel 9 broadcast from quite a few years ago (No adverts & No bits cut out)
    A MUST SEE movie

  15. Buddies is now out on DVD from Umbrella Entertainment. You should be able to order it from your local retail outlet or else order it online from the Umbrella website:
