Time, the enemy

This clip chosen to be PG

Clip description

Vince Lovegrove speaks of the onrush of time, and how it robs him of moments with his wife Suzi and young son Troy. Over photographs, he describes the 'real Suzi’: her career as a dancer, their meeting in America, the birth of Troy and their marriage in mid-1985. Weeks later, they learn that Suzi has contracted AIDS.

Curator’s notes

This sets the context and theme of the film. In voice-over, Vince talks about how he and Suzi met and how the world crashed in on them soon after they were married. The images of Vince with his son Troy and images of happier days for Vince and Suzi are tempered by the sombre tone of the voice-over.
