How are people using the website?

australianscreen online’s reach continues to grow with over 85,000 visits from 167 territories in the month of September, up from 71,000 visits in July and 65,000 in June.

Site visits peaked at the end of Term 3 with a top of 3,787 visits in one day. Visits went down over the school holidays, but are climbing again now and it will be interesting to see what it does in Term 4.

Our most popular titles for this month were a newsreel of the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge (1932), feature films Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Crocodile Dundee, and documentaries Not Quite Hollywood and Bread and Dripping (about the Great Depression).

It’s great to see what the popular titles are so we can add more titles offering different perspectives on the same subjects, for example the Great Depression.

70% of visitors were from Australia, with the site viewed in 88 centres across Australia, from East (Coffs Harbour, NSW) to West (Geraldton, WA) and from North (Darwin, NT) to South (Kingston, Tas). 10% of visits came from North America (Canada and the USA).
