'I've got your picture, she's got you' education content clip 1

Original classification rating: M. This clip chosen to be M

Clip description

Kerry (Belinda McClory) is shadowing Jack (Richard Sutherland) and his new girlfriend (Ola Chan), one of the nurses from the hospital. Her voice-over shows how close to the edge she is. The lovers are stopped in the street by a photographer (Lech Mackiewicz) who offers to take pictures of them back at his studio. Kerry follows them.

Curator’s notes

The acting, direction and writing all contribute to a looming sense of disaster. We’re in the presence of a deep and pent up violence as these two strange and estranged lovers move towards their inevitable climax.

The one-off play on television has never been a popular form, possibly because television executives believe that an audience builds better with a series or serial reprising the same characters from week to week. Seven Deadly Sins offered a range of directors and writers a chance to try something different, many of them going on to stellar careers, including PJ Hogan and Alison Maclean. The series was much appreciated by the audience and rated well, despite its difficult 9.30pm timeslot.
