Clip description

Host Andrew Harwood introduces the three teams contesting the New South Wales final of It’s Academic. He outlines the object and rules of the game as well as prizes to be won, including a Commonwealth Bank scholarship and passage on a Qantas delivery flight to the USA.

The opening of the episode introduces the teams, their schools and the prizes on offer. The contestants’ ‘please Sir’ reflects the unerringly polite behaviour and respect for authority evident in this series. Throughout each episode, and seen here in this opening clip, there are regular positive endorsements of sponsored products, not so commonly seen in the more regulated children’s television industry today.
