In the underground world of North Col, Noah’s sister Becky (Kate Keltie) helps Dr Pretorius (Gerard Kennedy) try to work out what has happened to Noah (Jeffrey Walker). At the same time, Noah is trying to rescue Sundance (Daniel Daperis) from the Protectors in the desert-based Sentinel Camp.

The set contrasts in this series are very dramatic. In the icy, organised underground world of North Col the colours are cool – blues and greys. This calm, immaculately tidy, scientific setting is a stark contrast to Haven, a hot, dry desert, with lots of brown, dirt and mess. This desert setting, and the neo-primitive look of the Sentinel Camp, the dirty sweaty appearance for both the Protectors and the feral looking Nomads, and the junk built vehicles, draw strongly on the iconic Australian film Mad Max 2.
