Clip description

The Provost Brothers theme tune accompanies the opening credits to Ask the Leyland Brothers. The episode begins with an introduction from Mike and Mal Leyland.

Curator’s notes

This title sequence is a classic. The Provost Brothers’ repetitive jingle is synced with multiple images of Ask the Leyland Brothers T-shirts, some of them wet and worn by women emerging from the sea. It’s a none-too-subtle attempt to engrave the title on the viewer’s subconscious.

The ubiquitous orange bus is the real star of the titles, as it travels through a variety of Australian locations. The supporting cast of children, animals, miners, racing-car drivers and motorcyclists help set up an expectation of variety.
