Curator’s clip description
Stone (Ken Shorter) saves the GraveDiggers from an assassin’s attack at their hotel hangout. He asks their leader, the Undertaker (Sandy Harbutt), if he can ride undercover with the gang.
Curator’s notes
Stone comes face-to-face with the GraveDiggers for the first time. He’s a ‘pig’ who represents everything they hate about straight society and is violently rejected on sight. When Stone rescues the gang from a hit man he earns the right to at least be heard. Whatever credibility he has proves to be short-lived. His suggestion that he ride with the gang is ridiculed by the Undertaker and his mates. The pub sequences for Stone were filmed at the Forth and Clyde Hotel in Balmain. A real-life bikie hangout, the notorious establishment had been closed for several months and was re-opened for the movie.
